********************************************************************************************************************************************************Offered in December of last year, Barrie Winsor’s Collection of cut and counter stamped Spanish Silver Dollars was a complete sell-out. Several collectors missed out altogether. And those that were fortunate enough to buy pieces from the collection were asking for more. It prompted us to go back to Barrie to establish whether he had a few more pieces tucked away. Barrie is at heart, a genuine collector, with a strong passion for colonial currency and we suspected that he might have a few more pieces to show us. And we were not disappointed. Four fascinating pieces from the British colonies of Grenada, Tobago, St Vincent and Guadelope. And the fifth piece, a very rare Lima Mint Silver Dollar with an unrecorded counter stamp. Together they re-affirm the might of the Spanish Silver Dollar as an international currency in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
