When Melbourne journalist Anthony Black asked Coinworks to list ten coin rarities that were priced below $ 10,000 - and were destined for growth – the Perth Mint proofs struck between 1957 and 1963 were high on our list. Coins such as this 1957, 1958 and 1959 Perth Mint Proof Penny would have been amongst them. And while we are offering the coins as a trio, you can take your pick and acquire just one, two or all three of the coins. The price of each coin is $ 3500. Or $ 9500 for the trio.
In terms of their rarity:
- The mintages of the 1957, 1958 and 1959 Perth Pennies are 1112, 1028 and 1030 respectively which are indeed tiny mintages.
- Seven out every ten Perth proof pennies that we sight are assessed by us as being inferior for quality, mishandled, toned and harshly spotted thereby reducing the pool of quality examples to a truly minuscule number.
- To quantify the availability of quality examples we suggest that you would be lucky to sight three to four quality Perth proof pennies annually.
